Personality:
Straightforward - Does not waste time with his opinions. He is usually curt when speaking, and does not really allow much time for unnecessary (in his opinion) comments. His conversations are usually short and the person talking to him might be put off by his distant replies. Though he can't do anything about it if the person he's talking to is very persistent (he'll just sigh).

Contemplative - Thinks before he acts. A very useful characteristic, he considers the possible outcomes and chooses the most efficient one (for him). However, this can prove slightly difficult as he can take a while when making a final decision (he might overthink things when really pressured), or he might mistakenly choose the wrong path (if inebriated).

Protective - Of others and himself. He doesn't disclose personal info easily, and will be a little resistant before becoming friends.

Independent - Doesn't like to rely on others (he has few friends that are close to him), but he doesn't really mind company. He has an aloof image that he wants to keep; working alone is not a problem. Thus he sometimes has difficulties working as a team, as he easily becomes annoyed if things aren't executed as well as he expects, illustrated by constant sighing.

Hardworking - Overexerts himself at times, staying up late to finish homework, a project, or just for practice. Lives off of coffee. As a result, his work area (i.e. his dorm room) becomes quite messy, and is left to Ayase for cleanup.

Bio: Hayato was born in Kansai, but his family moved to Tokyo when he was three years old. He is the eldest son of his family and has a sibling-complex towards his younger brother, Ayase. Though he is the oldest and is responsible, he did not develop a good cleaning habit, and becomes quite messy when studying/distracted. Instead, Ayase takes over most of the household chores (which helps develop independence).
Hayato never really had much interest in anything besides reading, studying, and watching over Ayase. Though his classmates often went out to play after school, Hayato returned home to make sure he knew his material for any upcoming tests.

In high school, he met his closest friend, a boy one year older than him. His friend gave him a lot of advice, such as how to be more sociable (which, in the end, only helped a bit), how to deal with other people, etc. Hayato greatly admired his friend, and wanted to attend the same university, but was rejected when his friend announced that he was going into the army, and it wouldn't be a good fit for Hayato. Hurt and disappointed, Hayato decided to attend Kamenoko (also due to his parents wanting him to stay close to home, as most parents do).

Going to college wasn't a difficult transition, due to his independent nature. Hayato chose management as a major as it seemed the best path to go for his finances; it didn't hurt that his father had some experience in that area. After trying it out freshman year, he discovered that it wasn't a terrible choice, and that some parts were actually enjoyable. He still remains more in the background, not really speaking unless he feels the need to insert his opinion, but it's not terribly lonely, as he often calls home to check up on his family.

Extra: Though he is a Pisces, he has much of Cancer's impenetrability. He is the person in the back of the room, minding his own business. He can seem unapproachable, but if greeted, he'll reply in turn. He speaks in a calm, soft, quiet tone, but his voice can become cold and harsh if irritated.

Likes:
- His younger brother Haru (complex)
- Smoking (habit picked up from an old sempai from high school)
- Sleep
- He's interested in cooking, but he can't cook. (He also lives off of ramen, typical of students who can't afford to spend too much on food)
- Music (classical, mostly; likes pianists and cellists)
- Drinking occasionally (though he can't hold his liquor very well, which is bit of a problem...)
- Vacation time (likes onsen trips, though it rarely occurs due to limited budget)
- Chocolate, gum (sugar rush helps when studying)
- Singing in the shower (something he will never admit to)

- Missing/misplacing his glasses
- Rudeness
- Playboys, loose girls, flirting (it makes him uncomfortable; he tends to shy away from these types of people)
